Oil light keeps coming on ???? Petrol Zafira 2008.

My sister has a 2008 1.6 Petrol Zafira.

The oil light has started to come on a short distance into the journey.  It then stays on for the remainder of the journey.  It goes off when when engine turned off but comes back again.

I looked today at the car and NO leaks, oil level spot on, no Mayo, coolant spot on and no odd colours ??

Any thoughts ????

Thanks in advance.  Car done 40k mls.

Faulty or iffy oil pressure switch ??

Hopefully a knackered switch, certainly preferable to the other possible causes

As a new switch is about £4, fitting a new one is worth doing first.


Unless you have someway of measuring the oil pressure, which would be worth a go.
