Get yourself down to your local body shop supplier and get yourself a can of panel wipe.
Its what painters use for wiping grease and crap off body panels before they spray them and shouldn't damage the vinyl surface

Best Place to get some glasses from is your local fishing tackle shop. Ask the man behind the counter and he will have loads of different styles from about fifteen quid.
Fishermen use these for the same reason and that's to take the glare off the water.
