Sounds like just a good service needed Markie, and you could always remove the air-filter too ::)

Think your right matey  ;) but what does removing the air filter do?

Bit of a 'dangle berries' up though as the MOTer and subsequently the garage is now shut whilst the owner cavorts around the med on a cruise....so cant retest untill week on Monday.

Still means i should be ready to go, service it (plugs, filters and oil) and fire some redex petrol treatment in it before leaving at 6am on day of retest and going the 3 miles to the MOT test station via Munich  ;D

Filter removal will do bugger all (assuming its not totally cclogged up) as its a closed loop control setup.
