The weight of expectation in the Prem means he had to go, but i dont lay all the blame at his door. Our problems go deeper than the manager the chairmans running of the club in making all managers slash the wage bill and it isnt allowing the better players around to come in. Sad times ahead i fear.

Sadly, Murdock destroyed the tribal / community game of football in this country.
Its all about money and global exposure nowdays and small clubs like Villa just don't have the funds so can't compete with the top 4 or 5 in the premier league.
Imho, the premier league is made up of 4 or 5 teams which compete for the top few spaces, the 3 which came up from the championship and 3 or 4 others which will fight it out for the relegation places and the rest are just there to make up the numbers.
Unless you have a stupidly rich sugar daddy, nobody can compete with the top 5 teams so what's the point ?
The championship IS the new 1st division in England and has been for a while.
The sooner Murdock pisses off and pours his money into the European Super League the better.
Its a shame that money forced villa to push Sherwood out of the door.
He was a young English manager who believed in young British players.
