I have the same drone,it won't come back if it loses signal, although as I only paid £42 plus vat I wouldn't expect it too

Looking at building my own drone next year along with some custom code.  GPS track, return to home, follow me and of course free-flight.  There are soime very cosy effective arduino parts which means you can make a rather large one for a lot less than a typical kit would cost.

My mate lost a £250 drone on it's maiden flight and he was in the doghouse for some time as his Mrs frowns upon his habit of buying expensive toys!  ;D

He found it a few months later wedged in a tree!  ;D ;D ;D

Explain why do people need a drone? Are they going to be carrying out raids on Syria or are they filming some Ariel shots for a blockbuster movie?  :o

Hi biggriffin.. I see what your saying,, But its the photo side of things that i like..you are getting to take pics from an angle/position that you other wise would not be able to.

I got a cheapie one for xmas. It was one of Mrs TB's way of saying that I'd been a really good boy all year, in what was quite a difficult year, and she thought it'd make me smile for an hour or 2 :).

Obviously, if I really like it, then that gives opportunity for a burfday idea :)

I have also had an idea for an underwater drone to assist with my spearfishing so Ican check the visibility and the presence of fish on the sebed before I get the fins on and sink to the bottom.
