How come ?

Fast black one has been off the road for a couple of months with the battery taken off . Theres me thinking ill need to dig out the radio code but when the car started up the radio did a search and came on  ??? No code needed . Is it Christine  :)

Ive had this before with 2005 and 2006 HU's, if the HU is switched off before removing the Battery and not switched on again until Battery has been fitted, some seem to retain their status.

Not something that's guaranteed or a recommended thing to do mind.

The code can be disabled.  :) Presumably that's happened to yours at some point. Can be re enabled  :y

If memory serves .. on the 2.6 & 3.2 because the whole radio/cdplayer/satnav/display conglomeration are all paired to each other then the only time the code is needed is to "de-pair" and then "pair" again after part of the system is changed. Loss of power (flat battery) matters not.

Might be wrong but that is my understanding of the system  :)

That's for the NCDC Range  ;) the non satnav ones still are manual coded.

OP has CDX in his profile so guessing there should be a 2006 HU in there, unless its been swaped.

I thought, as long as you had the code in the first place, you could set it so that no code is needed.
