Centre console

How easy is it to remove the top silver part of the centre console around the gear lever?
Mine is badly marked & repainting or vinyl wrapping it seems to be the best option.

It's a Doddle... Lift out the gear gaiter/slushbox switch panel and undo the two screws... Slide it forward and lift up. Then pull it back to clear the front edge... This is located by two rear facing prongs and it's easy to dig them into the console structure. Once the front is clear it's a question of simply wriggling it around the hand brake and away. Gear lever needs to be in 2/4 if manual and 3 if auto to ensure the trim will clear the lever...

Takes less time to do than typing this ;)
