Technically, all 6 cylinder Omegas should have Z/Y/W rated tyres
True, likewise the 5 series... but it unusual to see winter tyres rated much above H, and V is good for 149Mph, which is plenty in inclement weather :D

Ha ha got to laugh, they don't post to the Scottish highlands the one place in the UK that needs winter tyres and would get them many more sales.

That's more of a logistical problem than a supplier one... The Highlands aren't a round day trip from the courier hubs, which are all in the Midlands ;) Similarly anything involving a ferry will usually have a timed delivery caveat... ie minimum 3 day delivery.

It's more of a cost, the parcels are then sent onwards to another hub, either in Glasgow or Aberdeen, or Inverness, they are then put onto company's who, deliver, to the islands,
Anything can be sent for a cost.

Might be of interest to thems who are that way inclined :y

They're Omega 16" sized/rated, ie 225/55/16 99V XL, so suitable for the entire range.

27th out of 27 tyres tested.  Hmmm..???

Well they are only £38.49 each!   ::)

What do you expect for that sort of money, for them to be made of rubber?  :P  ;D

It does make me laugh though we get this all the time up here especial from the old flee bay. I love the ones located let say in Newcastle that say will post worldwide but not the highlands, So it's not problem to post to Japan, America New Zeland or Australia but 250 miles north is impossible, but 550 mile to Lands End in Cornwall is fine.
I understand what you mean DG about ferries but that's a very small population of Scotland and most Islanders plan well ahead due to their remoteness.
Big Giff it cost no more or less to post a package  any where in the UK with the Royal Mail as it's priced by size and weight.

Got to Laugh though.

That's true, but will likely invalidate insurance, as its not to the standard recommended by the manufacturer

The Omega manual actually has a statement about fitting lower speed rating M&S tyres, as does my Skoda manual. Skoda go further and tell you how to set the speed limiter such that you cannot exceed the maximum speed rating of a lower rated winter tyre and state you are fine to fit winter tyres of a lower rating than the summer tyre provided you do not exceed the speed rating of the tyre.
