Not many people know about this place...

Took the tribe to the De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre near South Mimms this afternoon. It really is a fascinating place, yet few know of its existence. Here are a few pics:

Goblin jet engine:


Merlin engine (I think):


Mosquito (this is where the first one ever was built):


Sea Vixen (you can sit in the cockpit):


Last, but not least, my daughter took this pic of the Trident 3 flight deck. Piccie spoilt by some muppet who thinks pulling the stick will actually do something!  ;) ;)  :-[

Genuinely interesting place for an afternoon wander. :y :y

Well well, didn't know that was there, must have passed nearby hundreds of times  ::)

Edit: would like to see the hoover that engine in the first pic came out of  ;D

You beat me to it Alex!  I was thinking that my mum's Goblin didn't seem as big as that when I was a child! :o :o :o :D ;)

I LOVE the Mosquito!  :-* :-*  A marvellous wooden aircraft as was the Hurrican. :y :y
