Tragic -- especially at that age -- but it's a risk they embrace

he was very talented rider with a the likelehood of a very bright future.
he was battling for the lead with the normally invincible tenkate hondas when the accident happened.
the tv commentators were really excited for him as they said he was a really nice lad as well as being talented.
I was watching on TV when it happened and you could tell immediately that it was a bad one.quiet sickening to see really, but as already said ,it is a very risky business. It isnt possible to make bike racing safe like car racing ,and in all honesty ,it wouldnt be the same sport if the risk could be removed.
A very sad day though, especially as he was so young, heart goes out to the family.

a year younger than me  :(

Must have been a bad crash, seen superbikes crash at 200mph and the rider walked away.

I've known several people who died doing something they loved. I doubt any of them would have had it any other way.   :( :'(

Its not the speed, its what you hit.

My old landlord used to race superbikes, but gave it up as every weekend he came back upset after losing yet another friend  :'(.  Some of these were relatively slow accidents, but rider hit wall.

He came off infront of another bike which clipped him.

I should change my comment to 'what you hit, or what hits you'
