Try it with the V8 with tc/stability control off - tried it on mine and it needs a delicate right foot or its a right handfull - interesting to say the least 

The tractor lump doesn't have the smoothest power delivery, being turbo, giving nothing, nothing, nothing, 275bhp and every bit of torque all in one big hit.

I'd like to think the advantages of petrol and SC over turbo, give a far more graceful delivery.  Though with that amount of power under your right toe, temptation could easily lead to tears I expect

Yep.....my car moves around quite a lot in the wet even with ESP fully on. In mid position (Trac) there is loads of slip. Fully off it is scary even in the dry.

First time I had mine on Trac, I was thinking that I'd have to gather this all up myself, and that Trac fully disabled all the gizmos.

I then read the manual, and found out to fully disable, you have to hold it down for 10s, and that Trac will allow a fair amount of slide.

I find Trac quite additive, it doesn't interfere with the driver until things are getting out of hand
