Adding usb to cd player
« on: 18 April 2020, 19:34:57 »

Anyone know if it’s possible to play music by adding usb to standard Ford/Sony 6 disc player so I can drop tunes onto flash drive, could upgrade but would rather keep look as factory standard. Happy to pull unit out of the dash but not good at major surgery :-\

What car/radio?

What is the aux input? USB or 3.5mm jack?

3.5 aux jack for connecting iPod or phone, it’s a Sony with black facia & lights up green, think it’s a cdc6 from a 2008 Focus

OK, buy a 3.5 male to 3.5 male lead and use that from the phone to the aux in.

Works a treat for music. Not tried it for calls, but should work OK if phone is in a cradle on screen or dash. Obviously not as versatile as Bluetooth, but I guarantee that it works.

Have done this in transit vans and minibuses at work  :y
