Alarm wont do anything.....as they do these hit and grabs so fast it does not put them off!

Only real thing you can do is leave nothing on show
there was nothing on show that was the annoying thing.
think rather than an alarm I will just get one of the fake LED things fitted as I can buy a self fit alarm for £30-50 but to get it fitted I was quoted for £250 for a cat 1  :o

Same here - a smashed window for the sake of an envelope - nothing in it!

from what i can see they had my prescription sunglasses and a few Cd's (most are copies so no use).
still waiting for the police SOC to turn up and autoglass to call back £50 excess, plus will go and get an alarm fitted today as well

I think you made a typo  you said " most are copies"  i think you mean you had about 30 new cds stolen from your car along with your ipod leather, jacket, laptop and your wallet .  remember and get a crime ref number from the local plods for your claim   :y

Looks really good - just wonder either how expensive or how genuine it is?

I only claimed for the window otherwise it affects my NCB also £100 excess on the goods inside plus £50 for window it all adds up.
The insurance have my crime ref number, it seems there was a number of cars around the area done over last night. just hope someone saw something but it was after 2:30am as the car owner down the road from me was up until then and their car was attacked as well, quite a few had nothing taken though.
also have to wait until tomorrow to get the car as they didn't have the window in stock, but its locked up in their garage for the night as I had no-where secure to store it

Don't fit security film!!!

In the event of an accident, if you can't open the doors and the car is on fire, you will need a means of egress. In the Youtube clip, I would imagine that the 'brick' being used was quite soft and crumbled on impact. A centrepunch would still break the glass but would allow the fragments to hold together thus still stopping entry to some point but still requiring replacement.

Contrary to popular belief, toughening (tempering) does not make the glass any stronger, merely more resistant to bending forces.
