thats not bad then i was expecting about a grand for insurance. lad in pub his saxo is 3500 and hes had 2 crashes since in the last few months, he paid 1000 for the car. he wont get insured next year now surely

Thats gonna take him a few paper rounds to fund.....I remember it took me a whole year just to buy a Tv!

Unless your being soft and funding it all for him (mug!)  :y

yes i am funding it all, unless he decides he doesnt want one now, he wasnt too sure at first when i asked him about it. i may give him the option of putting it aside for when hes 17 so he can get a snall car. his mums not too happy about me getting it and said its gonna be my fault if he has an accident

I went through that, and he is my stepson, which makes it worse. told him if he gets killed, that I am a dead man ;D ;D ;D

I would not buy my children a car or bike the same as I wasn't.

I am happy to help them get a banger or similar and get it sorted out so they learn as they go but, it can be to easy come easy go if its laid on a plate for them

We were never allowed motorbikes for as long as we lived at home, Mum and Dad were paranoid about the safety factor of letting a young inexperienced "youth" (i was 16 at the time) ride such a vehicle and that was well before the scooter scene became as big and "cool" as kids think it is these days........

Personally I wont be letting our 2 lads anywhere near them until I knew they have got the understanding of what can happen.

I was bought a bike but I had to maintain/tax/insure it myself, I took over the HP during holidays when I got a part time job.

In my parents defence, crap bus service, middle of nowhere, no car at the time, so getting me a bike was a cheap choice, even if it did get borrowed if dads bike was off the road.

I was in further education though (6th form)
