The Admin Team
« on: 15 April 2009, 21:45:35 »

The Admin Team - Marks DTM Calib, Hotel21, Auto Addict and I - are all busy people. 2 of us have full time jobs with not inconsiderable commutes, and all 4 of us have many other commitments outside of OOF.

We chose to give up our time in order to help all Omega owners, not just by providing advice here, as many people do, but also with running OOF (which is more than just running a webserver, there is much more behind the scenes than that). Even sitting in layby's on the way home for 45mins trying to fix the server from a mobile phone.

Now I can't speak for the other 3, but certainly I'm finding it very tiresome to get home after a long stressful day in the office, and a commute home - a journey that took just under 2hrs due to the server problem - and then have to deal with supposedly grown adults acting like childern.

One day of this crap I can deal with. 2 days is tedious, but this has been going on far too long now. Far too bloody long  >:(

I'm guessing that the others feel similar.  So something will have to give, and currently my fuse is very, very, very short  >:(

My tuppenceworth....

Just finally got back into full time work last week after having had to cut short my career (almost permanently, as some know) due to pressure of work and domestic circumstances, amongst other things.

I have a wife to whom I have been most happily married for almost 30 years.  We are currently enduring her second bout of cancer in 4 years.  To say that this illness adds to domestic pressures is a gross understatement.

OOF, to me, is an enjoyable diversion from the bad side of life.  When adults cannot act in an 'sensible' adult manner and return to adult versions of juvenile playground taunts then, frankly, thats tedium gone extreme.

I have learned a lot here and have made some very good friends.  But I am seriously considering my position...

Have had an ample sufficiency, thank you very much, probably in the same way as the other admins have. ***

There are other forums out there that would happily welcome the apparently increasing numbers of foul mouthed, overly sharp of wit and morally lacking folks that seem to have become all to common on OOF.

As some others have said, it used to be a good place to visit, did OOF.

Think on......   :y

*** edit to add, probably quite a lot of OOF-ers as well as the admins.  Sorry, should have included that comment.   :y
