My sister is a bugga with washing machines and hoovers.  No regards for them what so ever.

Hoovers, whatever is on the floor gets sucked up, elactistic bands and lego included.

Washing machine.  7LB load limit, she tries for 7 KG evey time. :-/

Good point there  :y

Overloading them only leads to a poor wash and putting strain on them.

Probably why some machines dont last very long  :-/

I thought washing machines lasted longer with Calgon  ::) Looks like they get knackered before the hard water can knacker them.

Have you not implemented my points of action that I recommended a few threads ago Dusty? ::) ::) :D :D ;)

EDIT:  from my post of 14th April:

The eight demands on the management I suggest should be:
1.  Equally shared domestic responsibilities
2.  Equal pay & conditions
3.  The banning of slave labour (including sex)
4.  Maximum 30 hour working week
5.  All Bank Holidays work free
6.  Sundays and bank holidays - breakfast in bed for you
7.  Minimum 10 weeks holiday a year
8.  All domestic appliances (washing Machines) supplied and ready on demand, with replacements supplied within 24 hours of failure

 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

I'll always be your shop steward!!  :D :D :D ;) ;)

My shitepoint seems to like a new drum every 3 or 4 years...  ...mine if one of those that wrecks bearings, and when bearing fails, it wrecks the spider, and the spider is only available with the drum...

All hotpoints eat drum bearings.....they always have, they always will.

The spider seals fail and let water into the bearings.......and they like brushes for the DC motor (at least the induction motor based ones dont have brushes!).

Their tumble dryers are no better: had one for 3 weeks.  the 'engineer' turned up and took an hour to find that the door switch had failed only to say ' oh we don't carry spares for that' and left.  suffice to say the shop I bought it from took the heap of shite away and replaced it with an AEG.  You get what you pay for: said company is owned by the italians so I guess they are the Fiats of the white goods world.  Stick to german stuff
