no o ring, oil change anyway (bike)

Got the filters now for an oil change on the bike (thanks TB)

But the book says replace the O ring too (metal cover to the housing) can i get away without changing it?

usually yes I would have thought.

Worth getting one for next time you have to change it, keep it in garage, and change it soner if it does weep.

Only bike I've had with a cartridge filter (ZX10) uses rubber seals...
