Windows 7
« on: 09 May 2009, 15:18:43 »

Apparently Windows 7 is pretty good for certain applications.

For example, Flight Simulator X, which is notoriously resource-hungry and stutters on most machines, is very smooth under the new GUI.

See here: http://flightsimulator.ning.com/forum/topics/windows-7-release-candidate

It's only a release candidate for now though and will expire in June 2010, after which your machine will reboot every 2 hours!  :D :D

Actually it will reboot after two hours after March 2010. So you must buy the full version before then (unless it's delayed!!  ;) )

Also on the MS site it says "please don't test the RC on your primary home or business PC"

You've been warned! Still looks good, though. I think I'll leave it until the full version appears.

I'm still using the public B2, and its got to be the most stable beta OS I've tried.

I need to slap on the RC, but haven't had the time yet :(

Turn it off. I run mine on the 'Windows Classic' theme. I get all the
better stuff that Vista offers with an 'XP' feel about it.
