I was born there too - another BFPO birth.

I have checked - I am definately classed as British

I have a Maltese Birth Certificate Martin, and only a few years back was I finally registered with the British authorities in the UK after accidentally finding out I wasn't registered as a 'British birth', even though my parents were British, I was born in a British Military Hospital in Imtarfa, I lived most of my life in England, and held a British passport!! :o :o :o  

Apparently in 1953 Naval children born in Malta were not automatically registered with UK authorities; something that was not rectified until 1957!!  So I slipped through the net!  Bloody typical!! ::) ::) ::)

One advantage now is that if this country goes pear shaped any more I can legally become a Maltese citizen!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Good idea, get the escape route planned for when it totally goes pearshaped, or we become a colony of somewhere else, like china or USA, or........

thatll be nice lizzie but have you seen what malta are having to put up with recently, type "malta" in utube & see, its not very funny, i used to go every year for my hols & have friends there & believe me something will blow soon as they aint happy :'(
