New motor...
« on: 22 May 2009, 14:18:40 »

We've just picked this up.....

So SWMBO can take the dog out and I can use it until I can replace the estate. 1.8 endura diesel, 10 months MOT, 4 months tax, 1/2 a tank of diesel for £190 ;D ;D Needs a power steering pipe as it has lost every last drop through the (usual on these) bottom pipe and not having a clutch; turns out the bleed nipple was bent and let the fluid out. New nipple and pressure bleed and it's fine although I don't think the master cylinder is much cop so I'll change it the weekend. Goes like stink though :y

Goes a damn site better than her (newer) works escort with the same engine. Perhaps it should have read 'goes and stinks' ;D

I do hate Fords, particularly escorts, with a passion, but did have that engine in NA form in a few works vans.  Utterly awful in Escort, but 'OK' in the fiestas.  In both cases, needed to rag the nuts of it to get it to go....
