It was all going so well....
« on: 01 June 2009, 14:44:29 »

been in scotland on holiday this week, in totaly my mig did 1300 miles, and i was thinking its brill that a 15 year old car with nearly 230k miles would do this faultlessly til the fanbelt tensioner came loose and i had to get AA to help me for the first time ever. Atleast it happened when i stopped at my mates house on the way home, who loyally got me and my familly a chinese =]

Oh by the way i noticed how low the suspension was with the roofbox and roof so full, the arches looked to be only about a centimeter or so above the tyres from a distance, is this normal?

If it's an Elite with self levelling suspension then no but if there's no self levelling I would say yes

Translation: If it's a basic set-up then you need new springs which Loo-Knee and me will fit for a price. If it's a more complicated self-levelling system then it's too complicated for us so will be fine. :y

its a poverty spec Select lol
Weird since the mechanics did something to my suspension last year. I havnt the faintest idea what but it was quite expensive. I really shouldnt have my car serviced, everytime they decide something is 'dangerous' and costs me a fortune

well its ok when i dont have a roofbox and estate full of junk and as im only carrying that much stuff a few times a year ill live with it.

out of interest, if i got a caravan again, would it be a issue?
would be a shame really since 2.5td will be waaaay better at towing than the 1.8 mondeo i had with the caravan
