Why not just go and buy an 18mm socket, simples :D :D

Perhaps the shop is shut ::)

the shop was shut, and I had to go to work..... definitely next time i'm at Oscotts i'll be buying one!

Just felt the need for a rant before work. thanks for making me laugh now i've come back!  ;D

the 18mm was for indeed for caliper but also tie bar, suspension arm.....well spotted

Haven't got to the drop link yet. Who ever said it'd be half off to change the suspension arm has obviously not done one. But at least it ain't an expensive part so i'll go new anyway!

I guess I don't have Snap-on or the like as I was given draper/halfords kits when I had a Mini in my teens. Least they haven't broken but just are missing some bits. Recently bought a cheap rolson kit of allsorts (screwdrivers, spanners, sockets, allens, snips etc) to live in the car for 'just in case'.

The Hitachi sockets came free with an impact driver - that I would highly recommend for taking the arm work out of undoing nuts!! It's not a cheap kit but even that also goes from 17 to 19 :(

Least the 18mm deep one got me through the job so far  :y oh and the new tie bar has 19s  :y

Should be finished tomorrow!  ::)

Vectra Elite Estate doing good post-Omega service but still not as nice to sit in.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!
