Please slow down as i cant even think what it feels like be told my kids were in a fatal accident or even cause the death of another due to speeding, just to get somewhere 2 minutes quicker.
Tell that to the despatch managers who insist that the driver must be somewhere in the country at a certain time.
Better than killing a kid.If the so called dispatch managers can't time a job so the driver has to drive dangerously they shouldn't be doing the job and just remember the typical manager in the route office is usually a spotty 19 year old who wouldn't even know how to start a lorry.Remember a "dispatch manager"can also face prosecution for manslaughter if it is found he is partly liable for the accident. I.E forcing a driver to break the law(time,speed,Taco)unrealistic times.
The other thing is if you loss you slot at this place,you only have to wait 15 to 30 minutes longer.that could be part or you 45 minutes rest break you have to take by law.
Think,how would you like a 44 ton lorry travelling at 50mph down a road no bigger than a normal road on a housing estate,with kids play outside am sure you would be one of the first to complain.
We have to put up with this 24/7
A slight exaggeration I suspect, especially as I have driven 44 tons and know exactly how long it takes to get to 50mph.
As Martin says, if it's really that bad then get together and involve the old bill....because by the sounds of it they'll have the cash registers going all day.

I've had my artic licence since 1981 and driven them all over Europe,Russia and northern Africa in the last 28 years for the family firm.So i know what am talking about.
But if you want do inappropriate speeds on small B roads that's down to you but just think about how you would feel for the rest of your life,thinking about the person you killed.
