Is there something in the water ???
« on: 08 January 2010, 22:44:21 »

Virtualy every post on this forum is degenerating into insults, slanging matches, name calling and foul language.

Now a half dozen of you might think it big, clever and your "right" to do/say what you will .. but, to be honest it is now getting boring.

I'm guilty on the pregnant woman thread of using the C word, and I freely admit that.

Ordinarily I would have picked a word that doesn't seem to offend so easily (eg, self-abuser, tosser, etc).
Trouble was that I was so incensed at what I read (or rather, the apparent insensitivity) that the C word was simply the only one I deemed appropiate.

There's not a lot I can do about that if it did offend you, and I'm not going to insult you by apologising because you will know full well I don't mean it, as I know full well it would simply be an empty phrase that sometimes has to be said.

Other than that, I've not seen too much in the way of what I'd call "insults" really.

Apparent...apparently, alledged, assumed.  That's the problem with jumping the gun to end up defending the un-attacked. :P ;)  (Quite right if it was a case that the woman, and not the reporting, that was being ridiculed tho)

I must admit, Entwood has a point. One thread this evening is a slight slangfest...and I can't even work out what it's about. In fact, there is (or was) no topic at all, or at least none that I could see.

The day that you choose so to do Ms Z will be a poor one for the cause of reasoned debate on this forum.

Thanks Zulu! :-* :-* :y

I do believe in free speech, but when you are classed as "people like you" and my sanitity is questioned then I do wonder why I should bother, and I am sure that must apply to many members on here! ::) ::) ::)
