i got badly cought out first time it snowed, would have sailed straight through a red light if there where not another turning to take instead. I kept pressing too hard on the pedal going past the point where the car would actually stop and the abs kicked in, and as you say, the abs has no effect. Now do lots or brake testing before i get there to feel the conditions, and of course lots of accelerater testing  just to make sure that works too. :)

Perhaps we should fit our cars with a braking device that works under any conditions.

An anchor and chain, you can chuck out the back.  :y  ;D ;D ;D

I have been looking at this:

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1381.png

Of course, such prognostications changes frequently and I would not put money on this surface pressure chart for the 10th actually being anywhere near what will actually occur, but the fact is the continent is very cold and if an anticyclone forms and blocks the incoming Atlantic air stream, we will suck in more cold. This particular scenario is drawing in air from the north-east and a low is sited very close to the East of the UK (snow?). As I said, these are just models and until you get to T+48, their accuracy is only 50/50, if that.

I pasted the image location, but if you want to try different scenarios, or bookmark the page, use this link:

Heads-up! It may be Spring-like today, but there's a risk of snow, especially for Eastern regions, around the middle of next week.
