Quite often the Hotpoints use an alan key inserted into the centre of the screw...

If so does it not unscrew from the inside and come out with the wires on spade connectors?

Stupid rather thing,it seems there are 4 screws.But the bottom 2 are Philips got them out ok,the top 2 are some sort of torx square heads and wont budge.Maybe hotpoint don't want you to replace things yourself,so that you use there engineers at break knows what price.Any other suggestions welcome :-/ :(

I have changed the element in my fan oven, and may be able to come and have a look if you want? I live in Kingstanding - PM me....

Sound like the security screws I came across on the MAF in my alfa. I ended up filing bits off the side and grabbing them with mole grips.
