« on: 25 March 2010, 17:55:32 »

Hi all,

Im heading down to London on the first weekend in May for the Army-Navy rugby piss-up and need somewhere to stay between Twickenham and London city centre, can anyone recommend a suitable abode for a couple of days?

Cheers,

Dude, you're gonna be stuck.  Best getting a hotel in london somewhere....if you can for that weekend.....and getting the tube after the piss up match.  Normally I go myself but we get a coach to take us from here and then pick at the end but this year I'll be doing just as much liver damage at Cowes that weekend :y

If you are going for the army v navy .. sounds like you are serving or ex military ... try the Union Jack club ??

(but not if you were/are commissioned .. you can afford the Ritz !!  :)  )

Seriously .. depending on service .. if commisioned ..

RAF club  : http://www.rafclub.org.uk

or

Army & Navy Club : http://www.armynavyclub.co.uk/the-club/index.html

I think the Union Jack Club is living somewhat in the past WRT rates.  My Sgts get paid only a little bit less than me yet they pay half what I do in the UJ... I find it cheaper to get a secret hotel deal off lastminute and the hotel will be better too  :y

Hi,

Serving TA. Lastminute.com could be a good shout, usually reasonably cheap as well. Thanks for all the suggestions :y
