Re-assembly is a doddle........as a rule...should be running this pm then (with no coolant in it to start with....)

Had to stop for the after school pick up  :-/ dont think it will be going tonight...or will it....

my dilemma is the water pump - can i even sneakily turn it over to see it starts then move on to the water pump?

or should i wait and do it all before turning over?

oooooooh it was all going so well - but about 5 minutes ago - just 30 seconds no doubt after vx shut i snaped one of the hollow bolts for colant bridege.

Now ive checked and it was'nt over tight - set to exactly the correct torque....so i have tightened the other on to 5nm less as i dont want to do the same again... :-/

All those bolts in that area seam to snap very easily  >:(

I snapped the hollow bolt to the oil cooler on TB1.....  TB was not amused!

If i attempt an oil cooler again, I will buy brand new bolts for the oil cooler and bridge. Does not look like they like being re-used!

Got enough thread on it Markie to get it back out?

Been there.  I was surprised gadget hands tunnie had the strength to shear it, but I guess he had eaten 3 shredded wheat that day.

Its not going to be done today  :(

The vx dealer fiasco strikes again. NONE of them carry the banjo bolts that easily snap!

Not sure if its the same through the rest of the country but here in west/ central Scotland all the vx dealers are Arnold Clark, Evans H, or Reg Vardy. And none carry them as stock as an estimate. Actually fair play to the dealer in East Kilbrie ( 15miles away) as he has sourced 2 in the Kilmarnock Reg Vardy ( 80 miles away) and is getting them sent up  :o

So possibly tomorrow and potentially Monday when i am back at work...best offer outwith that was " all being well...Tuesday"

Still theres other things i can be doing to it i guess...needds must...i really dont fancy taking that cam cover off to get to water pump......in fact bottom of air filter box is gonna have to come off first....

I can also build the rest of it back up as ive taken two bolts from the coolant bridge. So its back on with fuel rail and that air intake system etc. May also give the brakes a clean up as well.
