virgin media v+ box
« on: 29 June 2010, 18:48:39 »

after having the scientific atlanta v+box for 2 years the remote control is on its last legs as its been thrown that many times due to the boxes slowness.

rang india in a vain attempt to get the more up to date samsung v+ box.

after three different staff, speaking so slowly like a retard in order to be understood and eventually bumped back into the menu queue i gave up (threw the phone).

is the new box any better, and whats the easiest way of getting your hands on one? :-?

From what i've seen (never watch the TV at home!) it's a vast improvement on the old Pace etc boxes.

If you`ve got a VM landline dial 150, I rang them a couple of weeks back and complained that new customers are being given FOC the V+ HD box so as an existing customer can I have one FOC as well. Offered one straight away

Upgraded to V+ HD FOC with a Samsung, and even got a £6 monthly reduction  :)

Call 150 during the daytime you stand more chance of the UK call centre.
As regards the box I have had them all as I used to test them  :y
(Still have letter I had to take home for the missus when we had to test the porn channels)

Anyhoo the V+ Samsung box is great  :y

It may not affect you but be aware the Samsung boxes didn't/don't have analogue audio output, if my SA dies I will be asking for SA replacement as it pushes the audio through my technics system.

And the easiest way to talk to VM support is through their newsgroups, my remote died, I posted a message and a week later a new one dropped through the door no questions asked.
