it's a teamsport, there will always be team orders - Ferrari were just not subtle enough, I mean if you wanted to disguise it, pretend theres a problem getting a wheel off at a pit-stop - it wouldn't be difficult  :o

Interesting to see what would happen if say Lewis needed a win in the last race for the WDC and Button had no chance of the title but was leading the race with Hammy behind, I'm sure they'd happily pay $100,000 to allow Button to move over - the rule should be scrapped, it's unworkable and unenforceable - I agree with Albs for that reason  -they'll make it all "legal" again to save embarrassment next season :(

I think it is reasonable to allow team orders at the point in the season when one driver in a team can win the champoinship and the other cant. To apply them before that point renders the whole spectacle worthless and not a sport imo.
Its not a team sport in the sense that football, rugby etc. is a team sport. The team/ manufacturer supplies the driver with a car to compete against the other drivers in each race, and the championship over the course of the season. Each driver starts each race intending to beat every other driver which he and his car are capable of beating. At the end of the season his final championship points determine his final standings in the championship and are added to those of the other driver who drives for the same team/manufacturer to determine the final standing of the team/manufacturer in the constructors championship.
I dont doubt that the rules will be changed again to save the embarressment of Ferrari getting away with it again.
In the 90,s traction conrol was banned. Max Mosley said at the time "this isnt Nintendo, its motor racing". However it soon became apparent that the new incarnation of Ferrari (Scumacher/Irvine/Todt/Brawn etc.) were using traction control.
For some reason the other teams said nothing publicly, but there was a lot of disquiet behind the scenes, but it eventually became not only common knowledge but a standing joke, among the press and fans.
The result was not as might have been expected, to sanction Ferrari, but instead the rules were changed to allow everyone to use traction control again.

It must run in the family uncle Z. :y :D ;D
Besides in these times of financial hardship for many, the F40 would appear a tad ostentatious  and could  attract unwanted attention. ::) ;D ;D
