Inland Revenue
« on: 24 September 2010, 10:26:57 »

Received a letter from my 'pen friend' yesterday, saying I was in £3500 arrears, payable by 31 January 2011.

Funny, I thought, because when I filled in my tax return online, it said I was due for a refund of £171.

Rang them up and queried it, turns out they've added my state pension in 3 times! :o

Said I must have entered it 3 times on the online return, yeah, so why did it say I was due for a refund! They had no answer for that.

No wonder they think millions of people are in arrears!

;D ;D You couldn't make it up, really.

Aside from that, it's a bloody disgrace that this Department is able to conduct itself in this fashion without sanction. [smiley=thumbdown.gif] [smiley=thumbdown.gif]
