1984 was the year & i'd not long passed my test. I was driving back from my girl fiends one night when i had a blow out on one of my rear tyres :o Sent me rolling over & over a few times & came to rest against a VERY BIG TREE. I was driving a Morris Marina. I totally wrote the car off. The copper asked me if i'd been drinking, to which i said no, his way of checking was to smell my breath :o ;D ;D ;D The farmer tried to claim against me for the his wall (which was already in tatters) The scarres are still on that tree & bits of my car are still there after all this time :o :o

Only one thank god
It was in my first car, which was a Ford Escort.

Bought the car from Simpson Salvage as a Cat-C (Someone had stolen the dash / radio / steering wheel cowling and indicator stalk things!!!) So replaced it all... Sent it off for a VIC and MOT...

Then 3-4 weeks later, it was wrote off again  :'(

Lesson learnt... Concentrate when approaching a roundabout, and remember to allow enough room to stop... ESPECIALLY when a big wagon is coming loaded with bricks!  :-X I drove straight into the rear axle on the lorry, blow out the lorries rear tyre, continued to go under the lorry, only to have the bonnet ripped up by the T bar on the back of the lorry, and pushed through the windscreen!

I didn’t get a scratch on me, my mate just had some bruising from the seatbelt.

Trying to race a BMW 2.5 straight six with my 3.0 MV6 with 5 people on board. He proved that not only he had more grunt in his car, but also better brakes as he stopped before a roundabout :) He had 2 scratches on the bumper and I've lost a xenon, wing and one side of a bumper fell off.

Only one of note for me was my mk11 1.1 escort estate, I had a buyer wanted to pick it up on fri night but needed to drop some stuff in Southampton so he agreed to wait, he never collected  ;)

Exhaust blew just past Fleet services, kept going at 50mph (down from top speed of 60mph  ;D ), didn't know it didn't have a gearbox gaitor under the console so the gas came in the cabin and I went sparko. Woke up seeing sky and nothing else, was off the M3 up an embankment leading to a bridge, somehow steered it back down and was probably only 2 feet from getting it back on the motorway......

At this point I clipped the barrier protecting the inside of the bridge and drove along the length of said barrier finally popping into the slow lane and coming to a halt on the hard shoulder. Subsequent inspection at the recovery depot showed I had split the tank, split the axle casing, split the gearbox casing, split the sump and was missing a significant amount of brake pipe...... oh and it looked like someone had taken a cheese grater to the passenger side. 3 fire engines, 2 police cars and an ambulance, apparently the inside lane was awash with oil and petrol!

Involved in but not driving.
M1 Capri GTXLR with "carlos fandango wide wheels" :) , looked cool but locked at the hint of rain. Car flipped 90 degrees approaching a roundabout, hit a railing and the 6 spotlights showered a guy in the underpass who took it personally and reported my mate to the police  :)
Same mate, had a XJS HE on test drive overnight, took the hump back bridge at 80. They fly great but boy they dont land well  :D

4 years of driving, and no accidents. *touch wood*

I've had a lot of cars but I do get bored and I do like shopping for them.  :(

Only one for me. Traveling home on my Kawasaki Gt550 commuter, a drunk swerved across three lanes of traffic causing a van to my left to swerve in front of me and break really hard. I hit the back of him, doing about 75, with my left knee (nearly got around him) and left arm, catapulted onto the motorway and got my stomach and legs ran over. Ouch Broke all of my ribs, shattered left femur, right forearm, right shoulder, both thumbs, tension numo thingy, collapsed & punctured lungs and had to have a few feet of small and large intestines removed. Woke up in intensive care about a week later. Promised my family that my bike days were over  :'( :'( . Only memory of the incident is the intense smell of burning rubber. If i'd been in my car probably would have escaped uninjured. They never did catch the idiot either! There but for the grace of god.................. :y
