Woke up seeing sky and nothing else, was off the M3 up an embankment leading to a bridge, somehow steered it back down and was probably only 2 feet from getting it back on the motorway......
At this point I clipped the barrier protecting the inside of the bridge and drove along the length of said barrier finally popping into the slow lane and coming to a halt on the hard shoulder. Subsequent inspection at the recovery depot showed I had split the tank, split the axle casing, split the gearbox casing, split the sump and was missing a significant amount of brake pipe...... oh and it looked like someone had taken a cheese grater to the passenger side. 3 fire engines, 2 police cars and an ambulance, apparently the inside lane was awash with oil and petrol!
