replaced a switch lamp
« on: 20 July 2009, 12:08:11 »

Replaced one of those soldered in type lamps yesterday in the fan/rear demist switch on mrs dippy's corsa.  :y

Thought i'd pass on the knowledge as it's a common Vauxhall trick to say 'replace the whole switch' when only the lamp inside blows. I'm pretty sure it's the case with the headlight switch and probably lots more.

Anyway I used the WQ13P lamp from maplin:http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=1954#checkstore

which was a tad fatter and longer than the one I took out but works a treat.

Problem with grabbing switches from breakers is you don't know if the bulbs are ok until later, but this way we saved £20  :y Sorted.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

Thanks! After the probs with mine recently it was nice to do a simple fix. I wasn't sure where to put it but I'm sure the lovely admins will!

Sorry not to take photos, i was more concentrating on putting her car back together before she came back from a weekend away with screaming Brownies! ;D
