Yes, hi flat out heat, lo flat out cold. Set a temp and it will cool or heat to reach that temp. Once achieved it will level off, so to speak.
It's like setting a temp on the stat in the house, set it to 23 and it will heat until it reaches 23 and turn off, except it does mot have the facility to cool as well. The car does and will continue to balance the hot and cold to maintain the temp the driver has set. Sun sensors are also calculated in, if the sun comes out on the drivers side,it will add a little cold.
It's not really a case of setting it to a temp. and expecting to sit in a a constant stream of heat, or cold. It's trieing to achieve the set temp "in the room" if that makes sense? Although it has dual zone.
I think possibly it's why we see so many face lift omegas with the buttons worn out, the driver constantly adjusting the controls and using it as a traditional heater, ie turn it up because it's cold then adjust the heat down once it becomes too hot.
Climate control does that automatically. But if it turns cold, or "levels off" too quick, turn the temp up. I set mine to about 23 on average and the car just sorts it out.

But having said all that, I notice a lot of members don't use the auto setting and set fan speed to a constant or what ever else, will be interesting to see what they say and why the climate fails them, suspect fan speed too strong perhaps...
..... I notice the update calms the centre top vents to no heat at all when a hot setting is used, yet on cold gives a good blast. :-/
