Thanks all.

Sorry to mislead. I am ok at the moment, just vthe usual back ache. Just not so good news on what needs doing now. Nothing will happen for a month until they do the pre-surgery MRI scans, then I will no doubt have to wait for weeks for surgery, but this is a big one and I will probably be in hospital for a few weeks. It will involve surgery directly on the vertebrae and within millimmters of the spinal chord. The implications don't bear thinking about.

Not a lot I can dop now except worry a bit, then worry some more.

Still. No popint whinging on about it. Right. Who's up for a fix ronnies oil leak party? ;)

Hi Fin. Sorry to hear about your back op, i had the same thing done 16years ago. I crawled around on the floor for six months unable to stand up for more than about two min at a time as i had four prolapsed disks at the base of my spine and the pain was like nothing i have ever experianced before or since, thank god. I really did not want the op as it is so close to the spinal chord and it worried me to death at the possible implications, however i had no choice in the end as i may never have walked again without the opperation, all i can say is i wish i had done it six months erlier, yes i still get some back ache from time to time and i have to watch what i do but other than that it transformed my life. So all i can say to you is all the worry, and you will worry, is put into the shade after the opperation, Go for it and good look  :y

Is this the only way ? I mean surgery...Seems risky..As far as I know some kind of hormone  injections can help a bit..without surgery..In the past one very close friend had similiar problem. But resist to have surgery .Struggled and finally solve the problem in different ways..
