Sun roof problem on 2.6 CDX
« on: 14 April 2007, 10:23:16 »

My sun roof on my 2002 2.6 CDX opens on its own.  Reset as advised by the handbook but to no avail. Does not open fully, just goes into firstt tilt.  Any ideas.  Thanks

Yes, works perfectly well, and then the problem is solved for a while, and then starts again

... sounds very much like mine did, the motor sounded quite laboured when operating. In fact when I stripped the gearbox, there is a metal cog which is the part that pokes out of the hole in the gearbox case and drives the belt of the sunroof mechanism. You couldn't even turn that by hand - no wonder the motor was struggling! All greased up and that part can be turned by hand OK now, roof opens and closes fine since then ...
