tyre sizes?
« on: 17 May 2007, 20:36:01 »

:question  Just as a point of interest, what would be the best size(s) for my meega estate 2l?  It's on the standard 195/60-15 at the moment, but I noticed in the manual that also fitted to the 2l is 205/60-15, I'm on the standard steels and just want to know if I could go up a size? :-?

the tyre diameter would increase by 12mm, a percentage of less than 2%, you have no problems going up to that size regarding speedo readings, and they would only be 6mm closer to the arches

;) ok, I know where your coming from, just that with my 'enthusiatic' driving style which the omega does NOTHING to avoid, /i tend to round off the shoulders on the rears and a little on the fronts.  pressures are checked weekly in case anyone asks, 29f 33r, as per the manual for the estate.  was only thinking that a wider tyre might help avoid the wear on the edges, thats all?  8-)

I think it won't help that sort of wear...   ...a bit more pressure in rear may help even out wear, but be careful it doesn't affect handling.
