Almost impossible to differentiate between dis, leads, and plugs.

If you have a misfire, but no EML, then the HT side is likely...

Does the Engine Management Light (EML) - orange one on dash, just above handbrake light, come on with ignition, and go off a second or 2 later? Does it come on at other times? If it does come on at other times, see the FAQ section of this site and look for 'paperclip test'

If the EML doesn't come on at other times, its going to be plugs/leads/dis. Seeing as you have changed the plugs and leads, dis looks likely, esp if you've had a coolant leak around back of engine.

hi
i would never have thought it meant that
light only comes on with ignition never at any time while driving
so it looks as if i should try dis
do you know why vauxhall cant give a part no as it makes no sense to virgin vauxhall owners at all
thanks for your help

Its on the change over point where the two connector types changed on the module and hence why they cant pin point which one it is.

The only fool proof way of telling which one to get it to look at the dis pack part number or the shape of the electrical connector.

Dont buy from Vx, get it here:

Bosch 0 221 503 010 square elec connector style

I assume you have checked the plugs are not loose and have been torqued down to the correct value.

Agree with above...best way to identify is replace like for like by taking the dis out. Its not easy due to location but perseverance is the key.

The link Mark provided is an excellent source for dispack. I bought one from them on Monday and it arrived yesterday. Best price you will get too.  :y
