Goodbye old friend
« on: 21 September 2007, 09:04:51 »

My 2.5CD Facelift just departed my ownership. Guy arrived at 8am and it is now on its way to.............LITHUANIA!!!! Ok, via Northampton, but all the same it will be a long way away within days.

So, I am glad it is gone, but I genuinely think you guys have missed a genuine bargain. With the oil leak fixed and a bit of spit and polish, that car was worth £1750 any day.

Anyway, history now. It's gone and that is all I wanted.

Last year I sold a VW  engine + box on e bay to a Lithuanian, he sent a bloke over with a low loader + trailer didn't speak  hardly any english,  he had a van on the trailer he had picked up from a nearby town & from what I could glean he made weekly trips to the UK, you got to hand it to some of these eastern europeans they are enterprising. Oh a couple of years ago I sold a renault laguna to some Poles, it is now in Poland, it seems there is money to be made in exporting cheap UK cars to these former Commie states :-/

I'd have thought the vast selection of cars in mainland Europe would be a better bet, with them being LHD and you don't need to pay for a ferry crossing. Are our used cars that much cheaper?

...the "buyer" seems to have bought a few used cars off ebay judging by his recent ebay feedback
