Boot release
« on: 22 June 2007, 14:41:42 »

The boot release button my new Omega doesn't seem to work.  :(

There's no light and the switch doesn't make a positive click (should it?). If it is a duff switch, do you get it out with a small knife on either side like the switches on the old Omegas?

You know they only work instantly if the keys are out the ignition?
On later models you can push and hold to open when stationary
Early facelifts only work with the keys out.
The light comes on when the boot is open.

Doesn't work with keys in or out, Jimbob, either pressing once or holding.

buggered then ;)
least the easy fix is out the way, presume opening with the key fob works...does the button light up when open then?
There doesnt seem to be a lot of 'sensation' on our button either, bit of a click.

Sorted. :)

I had been holding the button in, but hadn't realised just how looooooong it took before the catch worked. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

To avoid any more muppetry from me I have found and downloaded the driver's manual (the car came with absolutely no paperwork at all, other than a V5).

Cheers guys.

the delay was added later, I believe at the same time Vx made it so that you can open the boot when the car is stationary without having to remove the key ...

If you have the earlier facelift (and assuming not modified), a press of the button is instant (with key removed).

If you have later facelift, its a press and hold for about 2s (doesn't matter if key in or out).
