I have a bit of an advantage on this - I don't have access to a garage so have to utilise a sloping drive - so letting the handbrake go and letting the car level itself gives a nice gap between the drive and the road to fit the new stands, its level too thanks to the council re-laying the road early last year - must have been non council workers being level and all :o - although I do use a cut off 2" pavement to boost the height of my trolley jack :y

With the degree of slope of my drive (must be close to 30 degress!!! :o) I haven't got a cat in hells chance of doing even a tyre change on the drive - so am basically the same as your self and park the beast in the street when up on the stands whenever doing any underneath work - works to your advantage cause the passersby always want to have a chat and I can dazzle them with my Omega new found knowledge from being on this site   8-) :y
