2.0 ICV and TB breatherpipe.
« on: 07 July 2007, 23:35:16 »

Did this job on my '00 2.0 today . Prior to commencing I had read many posts on the procedure but after having difficulty removing some of the compomnents last week I decided to have another look at it .
Many suggested that removal of the throttle cable, water pipes for the manifold heater and even one of the fuel lines was required to gain access to all components.
I found that the only item needing to be removed apart from the air ducting was the fuel line mounting bracked ( single 10mm SS ) and the ICV cable unplugged from the socket. The TB can be manoevered enough to allow access into the inlet manifold to clean the small 1mm port /screwed plug.
I even had to unscrew and remove the plug to clean it with a 1mm drill as it was choked solid with hardened muck.
Gripping the two fibre washers with long nosed pliers was enough to prevent them falling down behind the manifold.
Oh and the allan screws on the ICV are metric don't try using imperial allan keys  :-[
Anyway a simple enough job and well worth the effort .
I thought I'd post this so that anyone thinking of doing it won't be put off by the thought of all that dismantling.

Thats good feedback, the installation did change over the 6-7 years it was fitted to the Omega so its not surprising there was some variation in what had to be removed.
