Try the low foam liquid first as it is a detergent which will break down the oil and Clean the surfaces of the hoses and coolant bottle.the coolant bottle can be the worst part to get clean as you cant get to the compartments inside. Then flush with the forte to get rid or the detergant. Good luck and keep us up to speed on how your doing.

Would TRL be ok to use? And if so would it be ok to use neet? Thats what has been done to flush trough but still needs flushing as you can see from the pics.

Sorry mate, whats trl.I used some persil type liquid on a cav red top engine which had a porus head. i flushed that through 10 times before i got all the oil out of the system. Heater matrix was blocked with creamy slime and had to blow that out with an airline.Everytime i put detergant into it i went on a 20 mile run up and down the A3 and then flushed out the detergant again and refilled with fresh liquid. No quick fix that i know, sorry. How does anyone run a car with a prob like that for so long before they say "i will have to get that fixed".You get stuck with the mess and are expected to clear up the crap.

Sorry I cant spell when I am tired, I ment TFR (traffic film remover) what you used on vehicles to get the crap of the body work? I also need to know where the Injector bleed off pipes are so I can replace them. Are they on the right hand side of the head (as you look from the front) I guess thats where it will be?

I dont recommend anything other than a water based detergant in the cooling system,as some componants ie hoses and stat may be affected by the use of some  chemicals.sorry can t help with regards to the injector bleed as i have no experiance of diesels just cooling systems.DTM is the man to ask. ;)

Well I started to pull things off today and gave the engine a good clean which has helped, now I can see things and move things without getting to covered in oil. The water in the cooling system looks ok and not gungie (I did clean the expansion tank). Eventually got the car started after about half an hour and with jump leads. Found that the thermostat was not fitted properly (people not knowing what they are doing) and then found that the gasket was sticking out from the thermostat housing, thats possibly why the heater is blowing out cold air due to air getting into the system.

Secondly I took this off which is above the diesel pipes which is connected to the diesel pump.

Is this the Injector bleed pipes? or is it the metal pipes where this sits above? Please advise.

The wiring that you saw is for a 2 way taxi radio, but I will be taking that out and re-routing it. The vac pipes are there due to the cover's bieng in the boot so that will all be sorted out when it all goes back together. Unfortunately I didn't start pulling it all apart it was like it when I got the car.
