Radio display gone funny
« on: 26 July 2007, 21:35:01 »

Just a quick post, but does anyone know why the computer display, which show's the radio, is show the radio station with funny picture's? What is happening is when I switch the radio on at first it display's the station name, like RADIO 1 then switches to some funny symbol's. Why is this happening cos it very annoying.

Could be the RDS system in the radio thats pooped. If the display shows the letters ok to begin with from pre-set, then thats probably ok, but as soon as pre-set is selected, the radio RDS starts live decoding and if faulty will give you funny messages and symbols (my wifes peugoet does it when radio has been on for about an hour and gets warm) Just one theory, might not be correct in your case but worth a ponder  :)

Thats what has happened with mine. When you press, say station 1, it say's Radio 1 thenflicks back to the symbols again. Is there a fix for this or is it a case of putting up with it?

never seen that.  There is a serial connection between radio and MID, so check that plugs both ends are fully home...
