Mick and I discussed the 'Check Oil Level' warning over a cuppa before he set south.  Mine does the same thing, but only when going extended motorway runs at a steadyish kinda speed and this tied with what he described.  My oil level normally is at mid stick when the warning comes up but less so when fully upto the mark.

I hoped that he would have checked partway down the road, just to be on the safe side.....   :(

I just put a new SKF 6203 bearing in mine, drill out the rivets tap screwdriver into pulley groove working all roud to prevent distorting pulley, open holes to 6mm fit screws (you must file the heads down to the same thickness as the rivet heads to give clearance) refit with nuts facing front of car,  we use these bearings at work so cost was zero, but they are very cheap from a bearing stockist.  Takes about 30 mins. :) :)

The bearing for the V6 tensioner pulley is moulded into the pulley and cannot be changed. Good news is that you can get a new pulley from Vx.

On the 2.0 / 2.2 I think Vx only list the complete tensioner assembly, the pulley is not available separately so you seem to have found a way around this. I think the 4 cyl tensioner usually fails at the pivot, the arm is not held parallel to the belt anymore and the pulley begins to rub on the belt edge.

Unless it dumps it all at once, eg at startup, cause the sensors to get coated?

Good point. If it's leaking down through the stem seals that may well be the case.

Does it smoke at startup, Mike?
Kevin

Yes it does, but not all the time :-/
