Cruise 2litre facelift
« on: 15 August 2007, 23:00:11 »

Hiya People

Can anyone help me answer a question I would like to get to the bottom of

I have a 2.0L 4 pot year 2000 W reg non drive by wire facelift and i am getting the parts i need to get Cruise control installed on it

I have the Cruise Stolk
Am waiting to have delivered 4 pin brake switch & Clutch Switch, And Cruise unit, I will have to buy a Actuator Cable for my 4Pot as the Cruise Box is off a V6.

Now when I have all the Bits I have read that a Year 2000 (mine) still needs the ECU setting for Cruise to work
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-omega-cruise-control_W0QQitemZ170139286090QQihZ007QQcategoryZ10404QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I thought this was only for Drive by Wire Cars that need the ECU set with a Tech2 for cruise I.E 2.2 2.6 and 3.2 Is this Correct ?

I Hope I dont have to have a Tech2 set it as ts costing me enough for the bits as its rare to get a 2.0 With Cruise

If it's a cable throttle, I don't think you'll need to do anything with the ECU...

No IMO the ECU will not need programming.  Suggest that you install the kit and test it.  My money is that it will work.

Re the actuator cable (I'm guessing here) it may be that a veccy cable fits, if so then I'd look out for one of these from a scrappy.  Someone else may have a better idea here

I guarantee no Tech2 work required for you to enable cruise.  If there is, I will personally come down to you and do it for free :y

Oh yes, I am very confident ;)

Cruise ECU does not speak directly to ECU.  There are variations by year, but unimportant as far as you are concerned.
