Throaty Omega
« on: 03 September 2007, 10:17:32 »

My omega seems to be very very raspy when I first start it up, it ususally dissapears after a few minutes but it's starting to get annoying now.

Is it normal for them to sound like this or is there something simple causing it?

It also soulnd the same if it's started when the engine isn't totally cold,  if i turn it off then leave it half an hour and restart it I still get the same throaty raspy engine noise although it doesn't seem to last as long as when the engine is started from cold.

Mine used to whistle as you describe so i disconnected the air injecion pump behind the nearside front bumper and now sounds throathy much less annoying than that whistle, could be your pump was faulty in the past and rather than replace some one just disconnected it. As mentioned by Theboy.
