Pulled the plug off my Power Sounder 12 months / 20,000 miles ago - no problems since. Located beneath scuttle drivers side, just disconnect the connector. It is better to replace the whole unit which includes battery pack, the sounder is going off to warn you the batteries are low on power, sealed unit, very difficult to replace.

Still, hoping to sort everything out before Network Q expires in Dec. Don't worry, I have had my money's worth from the warranty!! :)
Absolutely! Get it sorted. Check the main car battery first then replace the sounder. These boys know what they are talking about!

Hello, back again   ;) yes get it changed under warranty, £100 for a new unit, however a 'tech 2' can not check the rechargeable batteries condition which are inside the 'powersounder'  Vauxhall may say they can  >:( , the powersounder is located under the scuttle, drivers side ie open bonnet, back left hand side, remove windscreen wiper arms, a couple of screws and a few clips, then the big piece of black plastic can be removed,  :) bingo you are looking at the 'powersounder'. (Mr Haynes has it fitted under the nearside wing). You are correct, only the indicators flash, no sound.
I have owned 5 Omega's, three had this problem, all 3 had low miles for there years ie the car did not charge the 'powersounders' batteries for long periods, these old batteries had a memory, but because the were never charged for long periods there 'full charge' may only of been 75 or even 50% full.
The best is insist Vauxhall change the unit  :y
best regards

TB had a look at my alarm with the Tech 2 when the power sounder was playing up.

There is a log stored of all alarm triggers and what caused them, so they can identify the sensor which is causing the hassle. In my case the log was full of alarms with "Alarm Sounder" or something similar listed as the cause.

I believe it should be possible to interrogate the sounder itself - there's certainly some intelligence in there but TB will confirm. I took mine off and it had died. Batteries had leaked on the PCB and shorted things out.
