brake sensor

I dont believe it  ::) after chatting about the brake discs etc yesterday . I was out and about in the car before work this afternoon and the pad warning light came on . Now I have only just replaced the discs and pads and sensors so I was not sure why it had come on . I have not had chance to have the wheel off to have a good look but the sensor has failed some how I checked with a meter and it is open circuit  >:( at the moment I have it shorted out to clear the warning . Question is would this be a warranty claim for the sensor it was new about 4 weeks ago .

Need to find out what has gone wrong first.

I had this before as well.

I made a cod of routing the new wiring and it got snagged on the suspension after a 5 mile run down to the MiLaw's...  Cost me (eventually) a new sensor....

Could it be that you have a lip around the edge of the disk and that this has quickly worn into the pad and sensor?

No its a brand new genuine dics and pads it feels to be in one piece still going to have to get the wheel off to have a better look . I routed the cable the same as the old one came out it does not seem to be damaged as far as i can see or feel without taking the wheel off .

Ring the dealer - being a Vx part they may check and change FOC for you...

 ;) Just check the connections, the system is not rocket science, disconnect plug/socket, spray with WD40, look at pad sensor to see if it is clicked in place, check route of cables with car on the ground ie not jacked up, if all the parts are new GM items this will sort the problem.
