Diff identification
« on: 13 October 2007, 14:46:12 »

I need to identify the diff on my breaker.

EPC says the ident should be next to the near side mounting bush on top of the diff.

Cleaned several areas off but no code

any ideas  :-/

flat machined area on bottom, 35x17mm ? originally had a sticker on it. Clean it up carefully and you might be able to see the engraved ident but rust usually obliterates it.

Otherwise remove the back cover, count the teeth on crown wheel and pinion to get the ratio...Tipex a tooth to help with counting.
A LSD has the sun wheels enclosed, normal diff has visible sun wheels.

HTH.

I will try to clean it up, but think it may be a bit long in the tooth to read anything.

IrmscherKris will have to wait a while till I get to strip it out.
